Learn More About Rush Printing

Rush21Rush Printing Company was originally established in the 1940s in Barnard, MO by John E. and J.D. Rush. In 1949, Rush Printing Company moved to the Maryville community. In 1988, Bill Treese bought the business from J.D. Rush after working for the company since 1966.

Then January 1, 2016, Kay Wilson, also a Barnard native and newspaper publisher, became the third owner of the printing company.

“A marriage of a newspaper operation to a printing business is a big part of the history of publishing. We newspaper people and printing professionals are cut from the same cloth,” said Wilson.

The expertise of the Rush Printing team was another reason Wilson was so adamant in keeping the business alive in Northwest Missouri.

“The employees have been loyal to Bill and their customers for a long time,” said Wilson. “They offer a level of experience that allows the making of a quality product to satisfy their clients and their dedicated service to their clients was also a great asset.

Printing has come a long way in the last 100 years. When Rush Printing Company was first started, the printing process required hot lead type and several chemicals. The process was labor intensive and time consuming.

Rush Printing has progressed far beyond those early days. With the installation of a computer-to-plate system, the need for film and chemicals in the printing process has been eliminated. Plates can be made directly from the computer. Along with this technology, Rush Printing has several offset presses, including two multi-color presses, two for direct impression printing, perforating, numbering and die cutting, a programmable paper cutter, one folder, and a saddle stitcher.

With all the equipment and updated technology, Rush Printing is able to better serve you, the customer, by giving the best quality and fast turn-around time on all projects.
